Your Whole House Plumbing Inspections

Have you ever had a whole house plumbing inspection? There are several reasons to do so. If you are buying an existing home, it is especially important to make sure everything is in good working order. But even if you are not moving, there are several reasons to have such an inspection:

  • Identify small problems before they become big problems
  • The water pressure in your home is low, and you are not sure why
  • Your home is getting older, and you’ve had some issues with leaking, clogging, etc.

A whole house plumbing inspection should include:

  • Inspecting the following on the water heater:
    • Flushing
    • Water pressure
    • Thermal expansion
    • Relief valve
    • Leaks and corrosion
  • Inspecting plumbing fixtures, supply lines and drains throughout the house to ensure there are no water flow problems
  • Inspecting drains to ensure there are no clogs, and applying drain maintainer to all drains
  • Checking toilets for leaks and ensuring they are securely fastened to the floor
  • Checking washing machine hoses, valves and drains for leaks, splits and loose connections
  • Checking the piping under the bathroom, laundry room and kitchen sinks
  • Inspecting all piping for leaks, proper installation, known faulty material (including lead) and other health and safety issues
  • Checking sump pumps and batter back-ups
  • Testing emergency shutoff valves
