If you are building a new house, you have lot of decisions to make in every room, including the bathroom. And if you are just remodeling a bathroom, you also have lots of decisions to make.  One of the more important ones is the type of bathtub you select. Here is an overview of the different types of bathtubs.

Types of Bathtubs

Straight Baths

These are the most common type of bathtub. They fit very compactly in the bathroom. While most have the faucets at one end, some have the faucets in the middle, letting you use the entire length of the tub to relax.  You can also include a shower.

L-shaped Baths

This is the same as a straight bath, but it is a little wider at the shower end, giving you more room when you take a shower.

Freestanding Baths

If you are looking for style and luxury, consider a freestanding bath. These are not placed against a wall, and can give your bathroom a stunning look.

Corner Baths

If space is a constraint, a corner bath is a good solution. It fits snugly into a corner, and creates a streamlined look for the bathroom.

Back to Wall Bath

If you have a small space, but like the look of a freestanding bath, a back to wall bath could be your answer.  It fits the footprint of a standard bath, but can be placed against a wall, providing an upscale look.

Whirlpool Baths

Whirlpool baths have jets that propel water to massage your body, and also help give the bathroom an upscale look. They are available in several shapes and sizes and can fit most spaces.
