Gas leaks are serious. If you smell gas:
- Do not touch any light or electrical switches
- Extinguish all open flames
- Immediately vacate the premises
- Call the gas utility company to shut off the gas supply to the structure
- Call us to repair the gas leak
Gas Pressure Testing
The gas utility company will frequently require that the repairing contractor pressure test the gas distribution piping to ensure there are no additional leaks before the utility will return to unlock the gas meter. Not all contractors have the equipment or capability to properly leak check via pressure testing. Call us if you want it done right.
Gas Line Sizing
You can’t just run a gas line from point A to point B. The gas distribution piping has to be properly sized to ensure that the size and run of piping will be capable of delivering the required amount of gas to the appliance. Failure to do so can result in damage to the appliance and could cause the appliance to create carbon monoxide and other hazardous products of combustion. Ravinia Plumbing & Heating has the expertise to properly size piping for any type of gas fired appliance.

"We had a gas leak. The technician did efficient, quality repair by replacing a faulty gas shut off valve behind the stove. The gas company had such off the gas to the house until this repair could be made, so we are very happy that this repair was completed in a timely manner."
“I had a gas leak in my home. You calmed me down and advised me on where to look for the shutoff valve. Jim arrived the next morning and quickly determined the cause was the log lighter in my fireplace.”
